It’s monthly options expiry. Goldman Sachs Estimates:

• Over $2.8 trillion of notional options exposure will expire tomorrow (May 16).

  • SPX Options: $1.2 trillion

  • Single Stock Options: $580 billion

This options expiration is projected to be the largest May expiration on record.
